BeLDO Empowers Vulnerable Families with Scholastic Support in Gondar and Bahir Dar
Beza Lehiwot Development Organization (BeLDO) has taken a significant step toward promoting inclusive education and social equity by distributing scholastic materials to families affected by HIV/AIDS, disabilities, and orphan hood in its program areas of Gondar and Bahir Dar cities.
This initiative provided essential school supplies—including bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, and other learning materials—to children from vulnerable households, ensuring they are equipped to pursue their education with dignity and confidence

BeLDO Launches Self-Help Groups and Seed Funding to Empower Communities in Gondar and Bahir Dar
Beza Lehiwot Development Organization (BeLDO) has successfully established Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in its project areas of Gondar and Bahir Dar cities, marking a major milestone in its mission to promote economic empowerment and social resilience among vulnerable communities.
Through this initiative, BeLDO has mobilized local women and marginalized individuals into organized SHGs, providing them with seed money to kickstart income-generating activities. These groups have already begun saving collectively, demonstrating strong commitment and solidarity in building sustainable livelihoods.
The SHGs serve as platforms for mutual support, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship, enabling members to pool resources, access small loans, and invest in their future. Early results show promising signs of economic independence and improved household stability.
This program reflects BeLDO’s dedication to community-led development and its belief in the transformative power of grassroots initiatives. By fostering self-reliance and financial inclusion, BeLDO continues to uplift lives and strengthen social bonds across its project areas.
Beza Lehiwot Development Organization (BeLDO) Delivers 36 kg of Food Support Per Beneficiary in Gondar and Bahir Dar Cities
In a powerful demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Beza Lehiwot Development Organization (BeLDO) has successfully distributed essential food items to vulnerable individuals and families across Gondar and Bahir Dar cities. Each beneficiary received 36 kilograms of food supplies, aimed at relieving the pressures of food insecurity and promoting community welfare.
The initiative reached a wide range of recipients, including economically disadvantaged households, single mothers, and individuals with disabilities. Local officials and community leaders collaborated closely with BeLDO to ensure the smooth execution of the support campaign.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely aid. “We’re truly thankful—this support has brought relief during difficult times,” shared one resident from Bahir Dar.
BeLDO reaffirmed its commitment to standing alongside communities in need through targeted humanitarian assistance, empowering development programs, and advocacy for sustainable change.
